What is a Personal Companion?

A Personal Companion supports emotional, mental, and social needs by offering good company, care, and friendship.

Companionship for you or your loved one.

Our time together can be spent in many ways. Here are a few examples:

Practical:

Driving to and from appointments, shopping, running errands, light participatory tasks like helping to reorganize closets and cupboards.

Emotional:

Conversing over tea, going out for meals, playing cards and games, crafting, reading to you, simple presence, and light assistance at mealtimes.

Fun:

Outings to Saskatoon's many venues such as the library, galleries, theatres, music venues, museums, the field house track, the riverbank, festivals, the list goes on! Life is for living, so let's go!

About Marieanne

Marienanne holds a sociology degree, ECD (Early Childhood Development) Diploma, and has worked with people in all walks of life through a diverse career history in senior care, childcare, and customer service. She has recently retired and is now wanting to spend her time offering friendship and presence by engaging in enriching experiences with others.

"I love spending time with Marieanne. She brings joy and laughter to my life, and especially at times when I need those things the most. Her sense of humour, her spirit, her willingness and interest in talking about bigger topics or sometimes about nothing at all--she is such a loving and unique human being. I always feel seen and heard when I am with her. She is a bright light in my life, and I always look forward to my time with her. Thank you, thank you, Marieanne. I am so grateful for you."

-Maria.

"Marieanne has a magical way about her that allows others to feel safe and cared for in her presence. When my mother was ill, she showed up every Wednesday to make lunch, listen, and laugh during a very difficult time. She helped make those hard days better."

-Roberta.

"Marieanne is someone full of compassion, which is shown by her love for her family and those beyond it. She is someone who has passion, such as with her garden, and loves having conversations about any topic. She is great to talk to especially about self reflection and growth."

-Steve
